I’m not a fast writer, but recently I had a long weekend where I would be the only person at my house. I planned for it to be a solo home retreat and worked it out so I’d have the third draft of my novel brought to a close before the clock struck midnight on the last day (ha! I could never stay up until midnight). I did it, even though some of the chapters were looser than I usually leave them before I move on. I tell myself my first book is taking so long because I’m doing at least two things: writing a book and learning how to write a book (which is many things).

Congrats on your solo home retreat. Yes I too am doing the two things, writing and learning. Happy revising to both of us!
I also think of football minutes as expanding time!
